Barbara Sabol is the author of two chapbooks, Original Ruse and The Distance Between Blues, and her debut book of poems, Solitary Spin was recently released. Her poetry has most recently appeared in The Examined Life, San Pedro River Review, Ekphrasis, Common Ground Review, Pentimento, Chrysanthemum, Modern Haiku, Pudding Magazine, The Comstock Review, and in a number of anthologies. Barbara won the Mary Jean Irion Poetry Prize in 2014 and received an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council in 2018. Barbara reviews poetry books in the blog, Poetry Matters. She is a speech therapist who lives and works in Akron, Ohio with her husband and wonder dogs.
